We can’t wait to see what you will do

100in1day is a festival of opportunity. You have ideas that can lead to greener streets, livelier parks, beautiful public spaces and more connected neighbours in your community. On June 3rd, join the first 100in1day in Ottawa by putting those ideas into practice.

Friends, we are half-way there. We want this day to look like our city – and we need your help to do it. Let’s celebrate Ottawa’s green spaces, our cultural diversity and strong community bonds. Projects can be practical, like planting trees or pop-up street furniture. They can be social, like hosting a block party. They can be artistic, like flash mobs or yarn bombing. They can challenge us or fix a problem. They can be as big or as small as you want. We only ask that projects be safe, legal and inclusive.

How can the community that you belong to be better represented in our city?

Some fun events registered so far include:

  • A group of friends are setting up a ping-pong table on the Byron Path between Mayfair and Granville Ave next to the park for an all ages ping-pong tournament;
  • Retired teacher and safe cycling advocate, Craig MacAulay, is piloting the homemade Bells Corners FREE Bike-taxi;
  • Guided tours of the new Mechanicsville community garden are happening hourly between 11am and 2pm;
  • The Blue Sky School Community is bringing blankets to the Ottawa River Parkway at John Ceprano’s rock sculptures. They want you to bring the imagination as you breath deep, gaze at the clouds and share your dreams;
  • Get your bike tuned up for free in Overbrook by some newly trained youth working with Right Bike and the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre;
  • Show off your Double Dutch Skillz at Rhythm Jumpers – bonus points if you wear your hot pink body suit! Hosts Zara Ansar and Ryan Mason will be bringing plenty of ropes and awesome music for a fun afternoon at Lansdowne Park.
